Beyond the Basics, and into Ourselves
Grow your communication and life skills in NVC to flourish and be present to what’s happening in and around you.
We all know that in moments of anger, upset, sadness, fear or frustration there’s a much increased chance of us falling back on the kind of communication that leads to disconnection and conflict – communication that takes time and energy but does not give much in return.
Changing how you communicate means changing habits, changing thinking, developing and strengthening skills, and finding new ways to understand your thoughts and actions, and those of the other people in your life.
In this NVC workshop, we’ll explore our conditioned reactions and the hidden agendas that can keep us stuck. We can each start with acceptance of “where I am now,” set up some practices and celebrate each new willingness to live in this consciousness and practice.
We’ll spend time with the practices of self empathy, self responsibility, identifying needs that are alive and kicking within us, and then…self expression.

Practice time in pairs or small groups– learning communication by communicating - I will be sending out NVC material in the weeks before the workshop, with a request that you spend time with it before the workshop.
Who’s it for?
This is not an introductory workshop.
Those with some knowledge of these NVC concepts: empathy, needs versus strategy, and faux feelings. You don’t have to have mastered these! Just know the concepts, as I will briefly review them, but won’t be teaching them.
New to NVC? There are books and links that would support you in getting these basics before the workshop. Please contact me if you wish to acquire this understanding in order to attend this workshop.
