Grow your NVC communication skills and be present to what’s happening within and around you.
This month we are offering an extended workshop, with an introduction on Friday night for those new to NVC, and then a full workshop the next day. This extra time will allow us all to go deeper, using new skills to shift your persistent conflicts.

We all know that in moments of anger and fear we unfortunately choose the communication that just lead to more conflict – communication that consumes time and energy but does not contribute to connection or peace.
Changing how we communicate means consciously shifting from old, well-worn habits towards unfamiliar attitudes and tentative skills. Can we find fresh ways to understand our thoughts and actions, and those of the other people in our lives?
In this longer workshop we’ll explore several fundamental qualities of NVC. Self empathy— identifying, understanding, and loving the needs that are alive, and perhaps kicking awkwardly, within us. Feeling into the reality of another’s world, passing through the behavior we abhor to the needs that we share. Including ourselves in any conversation, speaking our truth in ways that deepen connection.

Role play: witness yourself, understand the other, safely taste your fear, authentically request what you long for.

The richness of appreciation: taking the time to celebrate what is, and build on what’s working.
